What is Cosmetic acupuncture?
A natural approach to dealing with wrinkles and ageing skin with no down time and affordable in comparison to western procedures. Cosmetic acupuncture produces fabulous results by increasing blood flow, boosting collagen production and invigorates muscle tone. You can expect to look radiant and feel more balanced.
What happens at the consultation?
The consultation involves a discussion about the aims of treatment which may involve smoothing specific wrinkles, resolving acne, facial scaring, rosacea and age spots etc. Much like an acupuncture consultation Kim will ask about your overall health to create a bespoke treatment plan which is aimed at anti ageing, often lifestyle suggestions are made to enhance your natural beauty.
What can I expect at my first treatment?
A variation of cosmetic acupuncture techniques are used, facial massage, sonic muscle pulsation and serums create the glow you are looking for.
Worried about pain when needles are applied to your face?
Ask me about using numbing cream prior to your appointment.
Who should not consider Cosmetic acupuncture?
- Patients with a pituitary tumour, heart disorders, haemophiliacs, patients who suffer from excessive bruising, high blood pressure and diabetics.
- Pregnant women
- Patients who have undertaken plastic surgery or botulinum toxin injections within 4 weeks of your appointment
How long will it take to see results?
Recommendations vary, but on average results such as firmer skin, lessening of wrinkles, youthful glow, a more defined jaw and brow line tend to shift after treatments three to four. Often a series of six treatments is popular to achieve a change which is visible. Weekly sessions are suggested to achieve results.
Can you explain what you do in a cosmetic acupuncture treatment?
Treatment varies based on each persons needs. Usually points on your hands & feet will be used initially to support underlying issues and are speciffically chosen for anti-ageing. Your face is cleansed and cosmetic acupuncture needles are applied to your areas of concern. After the needles are removed a sonic pulsation tool is used to firm the neck and face area. Depending upon what you are trying to achieve, guasha and jade roller might be used to contour your face.
Worried about needles, why not try an acupressure facial massage?
Japanese facial massage involves a series of massage techniques to relax neck, shoulders and underlying facial muscles. Acupressure points on the channels of the face are gently pressed to restore energy. The outcome creates an uplifting effect to the face and ultimately provides full body relaxation without the needles!
